The Most Memorable Hike Ever

This story comes to us from Robbie of Redford, MI.  Robbie is entering in the children’s category with his story about a hike along Lake Superior.

Here is his story:

Last summer we went up north to Lake Superior. We went to a park with a lot of flies. There were hundreds of them. Each one was about the size of a dime. Altogether they made big black patches on you. My mom’s back was completely covered in them. It was terrible! I got to hit my sister with a stick to keep the flies off. That was fun. On our way back to our car we tried walking by the beach. My mom thought there would be fewer flies– but it was worse. To get into the car we ran one at a time and quickly shut the door. The hike was cool even with the flies. They will sure help me remember that day!

Thank you for sharing that story with us, Robbie!

Congratulations on getting your story published, Robbie! I love the part about hitting your sister with a stick. I can hear you snickering through your words.

Did you ever find out what type of flies they were?
