Seagull Sunset In South Haven

miketoennessen2007-08-15photoadultsouthhavensunset-webres.jpg This photo comes to us from Mike. Mike resides in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He also included the story behind this photo:

“During the weekend of August 11 and 12, 2007, I took my wife, Lynn on a weekend getaway to South Haven, MI. The first night we were there, there were a lot of clouds so the sunset wasn’t as pretty as it could of been.

The second day was absolutely beautiful. No clouds in sight. Beautiful beach weather. After spending the morning visiting the blueberry festival arts and crafts show we spent the rest of the day at the beach.

As the sun began to set I started to take pictures. The closer the sun was to setting the more people began to walk the pier.

When I took this picture I did not see the sea gull, it flew into my shot just as I pressed the shutter closed. So when I went to go review the picture I saw the bird for the first time. The bird just adds to the appeal of the picture my wife says. I hope you enjoy the picture as much as we do.”

Thanks, Mike, for sending us this breathtaking photograph!
