Great Lakes Invasive Species Goes National

Invasive species are featured prominently in this week’s U.S. News and World Report, in a story by Bret Schulte, “Invasion of the Zebra Mussels: “How political gridlock is helping a pesky mollusk gum up the Great Lakes.”

Check out my quote. I was recovering from the norovirus and hardly remember talking to the reporter:

“The integrity of the Great Lakes,” laments Nalbone, “is being erased by our inability to act.” The last best hope may be to find some integrity in Washington.

Or, more accurately, it’s time to inspire some integrity by holding Congress accountable for their inaction.
