One of our coalition members—American Rivers—has an action alert out to contact your member of congress regarding the importance of moving forward on the national stormwater rule. Stormwater is often polluted as the passes through urban or rural environments on the way into streams, rivers, and lakes. In 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency announced that it would work on modernizing the existing stormwater programs and since then a few proposed requirements have been put forward that would help reduce pollution in stormwater. However, the EPA has delayed in putting these requirements into effect.
American Rivers has listed ways for you to help in this action alert and encourage the EPA to implement new rules. Read more here for details.
