U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy Named as Great Lakes Task Force Co-chair

This week the Northeast-Midwest Institute named U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wis.) a co-chair of the Great Lakes Congressional Task Force, a bi-partisan, bicameral group that works to enhance the economic and environmental well-being of the Great Lakes.

Rep. Duffy will serve as co-chair with Reps. John Dingell (D-Mich.), Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.), and Candice Miller (R-Mich.) In a statement on the announcement, Rep. Miller said:

“I am very proud to welcome Congressman Sean Duffy and thank him for joining as the fourth co-chair on this bipartisan group of members who are dedicated to protecting our nation’s national treasure, the Great Lakes. I look forward to serving with him in this task force.”

The Great Lakes Task Force Senate co-chairs are Sens. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and Mark Kirk (R-Ill.).

The Great Lakes Task Force has been a leader in galvanizing support from the region’s Congressional delegation from the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for programs like the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
