USDA Announces New Grant Opporunity

The USDA Forest Service Northeastern Area has announced a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grant funding opportunity for tree planting projects in the Great Lakes Basin. More information can be found here. The Categories and available funding amounts are:

  • Restore urban and community forests – $120,000
  • Mitigate emerald ash borer impacts – $1,000,000
  • Reduce toxic substances in brownfield sites – $1,200,000
  • Develop ecosystem service markets – $100,000

Applications are due July 14, 2014.
