Youngstown Vindicator: Obama, Romney Need to Champion Lake Erie, Great Lakes

The Youngstown Vindicator published a powerful editorial yesterday, urging President Obama and Gov. Romney to champion Great Lakes issues as they campaign for votes in the vital Midwestern swing state of Ohio.

“Given Ohio’s role as a swing state in this year’s presidential election, we’d suggest that President Obama and Gov. Romney take special note of how their campaign stands on protecting Lake Erie could affect the election.”

The paper’s editorial, “Great Lakes have a role to play in presidential politics,” hits the nail on the head.

That’s why we hope that representatives from President Obama and Gov. Romney elaborate on their candidate’s Great Lakes platform during a candidate forum on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the 8th Annual Great Lakes Restoration Conference.
Stay tuned.
