Great Lakes Senators Rallying Around Asian Carp Amendment

Great Lakes senators are rallying around the Asian carp amendment being offered by U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan. The following U.S. senators are supporting the amendment—and deserve thanks for doing so. They are the senators who supported the Stop Asian Carp Act of 2011 (S. 471), the bill upon which the amendment is based. They are:

Michigan Sen. Carl Levin
Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown
Illinois Sen. Richard Durbin
Minnesota Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken
New York Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand
Wisconsin Sen. Herb Kohl

For those Great Lakes senators not on the list—it’s important that they support the amendment. It will take the cooperative effort of the entire Great Lakes senate delegation to help pass this important amendment in the battle against the Asian carp and other invasive species.
