Threat: Invasive species like Asian carp and non-native water reed Phragmites threaten native species and outdoor recreation economy.

Government Programs addressing threat:

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

U.S. Department of State

Over the last eight years, federal investments to restore the Great Lakes have been producing results—but serious threats remain. Cutting federal funding now will only make projects more difficult and expensive the longer we wait.
