Government Programs Combating Habitat Degredation

Threat: Degraded fish and wildlife habitat from pollution, unplanned development, and historical destruction.

Government Programs addressing threat:

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)

Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS)

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Over the last eight years, federal investments to restore the Great Lakes have been producing results—but serious threats remain. Cutting federal funding now will only make projects more difficult and expensive the longer we wait.
