The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has announced a request for proposals under their Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act. The program will provide about $2 million in grants to groups with the goal of encouraging cooperative conservation, restoring and managing fish and wildlife resources, and bolstering habitat availability throughout the Great Lakes basin. Local watershed associations, municipalities, tribes, states and non-governmental organizations are encouraged to apply. The deadline for proposals is Monday, December 16, 2013 at 8pm eastern. Final decisions on funding allocation will be made by the Service in early to late summer of 2014.
