Speak up: Join the Great Lakes restoration conversation

The 8th Annual Great Lakes Restoration Conference will feature a bunch of interesting stuff — informative presentations, cool field trips and entertaining social gatherings — and we want to document as much of it as possible.

The Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition staff will be blogging and tweeting throughout the conference, slated for Sept. 11-13 in Cleveland, but we don’t have the small army of people needed to do the event justice. That’s where our friends come in.

We’re asking everyone at the conference to take a moment to share their thoughts and photos on Twitter, Facebook and in the blogosphere. Help us remind Congress and the presidential candidates about why we need to restore the Great Lakes and why our elected officials must do everything in their power to keep Asian carp out of the lakes.

Here are a few tips:

When tweeting about the conference, please use one or more of the following hashtags:

  • #Obama
  • #Obama2012
  • #Romney
  • #Romney2012
  • #GLRI
  • #greatlakes
  • #asiancarp
  • #healthylakes

Take a photo of something interesting at the conference. You never know who you might run into in Cleveland. Snap a photo and email it to  healthylakes@gmail.org. We’ll post it to the coalition blog.

Share things on our Facebook page. Here’s the link.

Thanks in advance for participating.
